City realigns budget of approved projects

WITH barangay captains in attendance, the Sangguniang Panlungsod passed an ordinance during its special session on December 5 approving Supplemental Budget No. 4 re-appropriating P17.7 million pesos to finance 11 projects of the Lim administration.

Among the items to be funded include the cost of the subsidy to various barangay projects, P5.3 million; subsidy to culture and arts/tourism program for various barangays, P3.2 million.

The barangay captains applauded City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara after she certified to the availability of funds for all the 11 projects covered by the supplemental budget, the second to the last supplemental budget passed by the legislative body.

Others sought to be funded are for additional outlay for overtime and night pay under the City Treasurer’s Office’s Market Division, for cost for the procurement of clinical chemistry analyzer for the City Health Office, for the terminal leave benefits under the City Assessor’s Office, to be sourced from the general fund amounting to P11.3 million; procurement of various sports supplies, P80,498; enhancement of the ICT infrastructure at the Division Office, P535,000; school-based sports training of Dagupan City team, P1.8 million; Procurement of various sports equipment, P1.9 million; and concreting of pavement and covered drainage, P2.1 million, all from the Special Education Fund amounting to  P8.4 million.

Funding for these were sourced from the realignment of 23 various projects, most of which were the installation of CCTV cameras in barangays, and reversion from savings/ balances from other property, plant and equipment for DCNHS Special Programs in the Arts as provided in Supplemental Budget No. 1-2016) of the previous city administration.

Also realigned were for the upgrading of PCC pavement and drainage systems of Samson Road in Poblacion Oeste and Fulgencio St. in Poblacion Oeste.

Supplemental Budget No. 4 was moved by Councilor Lino Fernandez after the SP heard the explanations of Alcantara, City Planning and Development Officer Officer James Louell Fernandez, City Budget Officer Luz de Guzman and City Accountant Eva Daroy. (Leonardo Micua)
