Financiers, Warriors win dance sport contest

POGI SPORTSFEST

THE Financiers and Warriors of the provincial government offices won top spots in the dance sport competition of the ongoing 4th Pagalaw tan Olopan ed Gobyerno Itanduro (POGI) Sportsfest. held on November 20 at the PESDC Building of the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center.

Financiers couple, composed of Michael Angelo Santos and Anna Christine Phera Pale, was hailed as back-to-back champion in the standard category.  Generals’ duo Leonard E. Manuel and Jonalyn Estrada settled 2nd place while Builders’ dance couple Vernie Pascual and Melanie Ramos settled for  3rd place.

The standard category has three component dances: waltz, tango and quickstep.

Santos – Pale of Financiers was adjudged best waltz while Generals’ dancers Manuel and Estrada secured two components of the standard category – tango and quickstep.

Meanwhile, Warriors’ duo Alvin Ignacio and Micaela C. Malicdem aced the Latin category which has three component dances – Cha-cha-cha, Rhumba and Jive. In 2nd place overall was Generals’ duo Anthony Cacapit and Jennylen Javar while team Benchmark, composed of Lloyd Daryl Palma and Jennifer Delos Santos, captured the 3rd place.

Ignacio and Malicdem of Warriors reaped two categories’ top spot – Cha-cha-cha and Rhumba while Cacapit and Javar of Generals won the Jive dance. (PIO/SMDG)
