JOINT anti-drug operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Dagupan city police raided a drug den in Purok Pagkakaisa, Barangay Bonuan Gueset, after a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of five persons late Wednesday afternoon.

Retchie Camacho, PDEA team leader, said the suspect Reynalyn Castro, was initially the subject of a buy-bust operation but it turned into a raid after several persons were in the premises.

“She was also the drug den maintainer. Her house has become a one-stop shop”, said Camacho. ”Buyers consume the illegal drugs in her house after paying her,” he added.

Camacho identified the other suspects as Romelito Robles, Cesario Cuenca, Jeffrey Guerrero, and Fernando Tamayo who were in Castro’s house when the buy-bust was conducted.

After paying with a P1000 bill for one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing shabu, the operatives rushed in, announced the raid and arrested the five persons.

Seized from the area were 12 grams of shabu in three sachets, a cellphone, a tricycle, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

“This costs more than PHP 81,600, according to DDB price”, said Camacho.

Camacho later verified that the suspects were drug personalities, and that some were released under the plea bargaining agreement.

Castro, despite being a newly-identified drug personality, is considered a high value target.

“She has been under surveillance for several months”, said Camacho.

The detained suspects will face charges of violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of Republic Act 9165. (Ahikam Pasion)
