THE biggest animated Christmas display by a local government unit unveiled on Nov. 15, 6:00 p.m. at the municipal plaza of Bayambang.

“The ‘Paskong Disneyland sa Bayambang” showcases some of the most popular Disney characters to make it the most-anticipated season of the year and most memorable,” Rafael Saygo, senior supervising tourism operations officer, told the KBP Forum.

The entire plaza was transformed into a Disneyland park, divided in three areas for different themes for Toy Story, Frozen with artificial snow and another for under the sea for The Little Mermaid.

“No need to go to Hong Kong, no need to go abroad, we will make Bayambang as the happiest place in Northern Luzon because we bring to you Disneyland in our town,” he said.

Every Friday night except for Nov. 22, people will also experience the famous mini-Disneyland parade where people can mingle with Disney characters at the plaza and have free photo-ops.

The Christmas animated display here, as in the three successive years, remains the biggest in the country where the essence and the lessons of Christmas are still there, Saygo said.

Meanwhile, Carmelo Carreon, director of the St. Vincent Prayer Park of the town, recalled during the first Christmas animated display here, it was focused on the Nativity; it was followed by Paskong Pilipino and last year, it was themed as Paskong Bayambangueño.

“The more important message is the spirit of Christmas, the value of Christ coming to earth is still there: sharing and the fun,” Carreon said.

Meanwhile, Saygo said they are thankful to sponsors led by Mayor Cezar Quiambao and his wife Niña, who helped financially to produce the Disneyland sa Bayambang animated display.

For Bayambang, Christmas starts on Nov. 15 and celebration will end on Jan. 10. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
