DECORP power rates go up

By November 24, 2019Business, News

THE Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP) has increased its power rates effective this billing month of November despite the expected decrease in demand due to the cold climate.

Atty. Randy Castilan, DECORP legal officer, said on Monday that the 12-centavo increase has been added to the PHP 4.08 generation charge, an effective rate of P8.68 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to consumers this month.

It means that an average household consuming 100 kWh would pay an amount of PHP 868.

Castilan said 60% of the electricity bills come from the generation charge.

To reduce payment costs, Castilan urged the public to practice saving energy. (Ahikam Pasion)
