‘Agila’ Gang kingpin killed after resisting arrest

SISON – The leader of the notorious ‘Agila’ gun-for-hire group operating in Eastern Pangasinan, was killed after resisting arrest here.

Sison chief of police, P/Major Resty Ventenilla, said the suspect, Fernando “Agila” Patubo, was shot dead after he was cornered by authorities in his hideout trying to escape as police operatives were serving two warrants of arrest against him.

Ventenilla said Patubo who was wanted for murder, fired at the arresting officers initially and the latter were forced to retaliate and succeeded in neutralizing him. A caliber .45 handgun was recovered from the suspect.

P/Corporal Benson Philip Aturdido was hit on the chest but was unharmed as he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
