War vs criminality: 390 suspects arrested, charged
THE fight vs criminality in Pangasinan continues to gain grounds.
In just 22 days, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has arrested and charged 390 persons for various crimes from illegal possession of firearms to buy-bust drug operations to serving of arrest warrants
According to P/ Colonel Redrico Maranan, PNP provincial director, 59 suspects were arrested and charged with violation of Republic Act 10591 for possession of illegal firearms and ammunitions that resulted in the confiscation of fifty two guns and five grenades.
Meanwhile some 200 wanted persons have been served arrest warrants.
In the war on drugs front, 131 people were arrested from 130 buy-bust operations that resulted in the confiscation of 78.450 grams of shabu and 59.464 grams of marijuana. They have been charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
On the order of President Duterte to recover former detainees who were released for Good Conduct Time Allowance, twenty-one have also surrendered and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections, Maranan said. (Nora Dominguez)
