UPang Flames take greener step forward

TAKING part in the solution to environmental problems, the student leaders of the PHINMA University of Pangasinan adopted a resolution prohibiting single use plastics inside the university’s campus.

The resolution cited specifically to ban the use of plastic cups, cellophane, styrofoam and straws. The Committee on Environment (COE) suggests use instead of paper bags, cups, paper or bamboo straws as alternatives.

To implement this, the student leaders will seek a close-collaboration with the General Services Office starting October 7 before its full implementation on October 15.

The student officials will start an information campaign to engage their peers to cooperate and be part of this positive change. (Melody Valenton)
