Hogs’ transport from ASF-free towns, cities allowed

LINGAYEN —The provincial government eased not on its announced total ban of hogs being transported from other provinces but transporting of hogs from other towns or cities in the province not affected by African Swine Fever (ASF) are allowed provided necessary documents are presented.

The traders should present veterinary health certificate and shipping permit, where the point of origin and destination is indicated.

Provincial legal officer lawyer Geraldine Baniqued clarified that only hogs from towns of Mapandan and Bayambang are hit by ASF so she reiterated the provincial government’s appeal to other provinces to allow shipment of hogs or pork products from 45 towns/cities that are ASF-free. (Helen Martin)
