Espino commends 4-day chess clinic finishers

GOV. Amado I. Espino noted the active participation of young Pangasinenses in playing chess, and hailed their passion seeking to level up in their skills during the four-day chess clinic organized by the provincial government.

As a prelude to the 9th Pangasinan Chess Festival (PCF), the chess clinic held on September 21-22 and September 28-29, gathered over 400 young woodpushers from Pangasinan and its neighboring provinces.

Gov. Espino pledged his continued support in the chess game and to other sports activities for the youth during the closing ceremony of the chess clinic on September 29.

The governor also cited the support of the parents of the participants.

Ablang also noted that opportunities like the chess clinic inspires and further equips the young athletes in Pangasinan in preparation for national and international tournaments.

All finishers of the four-day chess clinic are entitled to join major chess tournaments of 9th PCF, namely: 9th Pangaisnan Age Group Chess Championship (October19-20), 9th Pangasinan Chess Championship (November 16-17) and 11th Gov. Amado Espino Cup Open Chess Championship (December 6-8). (PIO/SMDG)
