BUGALLON – A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital after his motorcycle was hit by a bus, then wheeled backwards by the bus.

Police investigation showed that on September 24, the motorcycle of the victim, Lito Atiwen, a resident of Salincaoet, Bugallon, was hit by a bus driven by Raymundo Macalinao while cruising along Barangay Quibaol, Lingayen.

Due to the impact of the collision, Atiwen fell off from his motorcycle but when the driver stopped and moved back to look into the victim, the bus’ rear wheel hit him on the head.

The responders rushed the victim to the nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The Lingayen Police were preparing to file charges against Macalinao for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Meanwhile, the family and friends of Atiwen, an active member of the ministry, were consoled by the church leaders of the ministry by affirming that his life was well spent.

Atiwen’s  wife, Jean recalled how she loved him, raising their three children while serving God together in the ministry.

“He is now welcomed by his Master with a commendation: “Well done good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord,” says his Senior Pastor, Jessie Paragas. (Melody Valenton)
