Four tourism events cited for ATO-DOT Pearl Award

LINGAYEN–Four tourism “best practices” in Pangasinan, led by the Pista’y Dayat (Sea Festival) are finalists in this year’s Pearl Award of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines -Department of Tourism (ATO-DOT). 

The other events are the Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Day) celebration, the Pasyar Pangasinan Integrated Route tour and the International Conference on Pangasinan Studies.

Pista’y Dayat is Pangasinan’s mother of all festivals, held from April to the first week of May.  It has been a pearl awardee for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017; second runner-up in 2014 and 2015, first runner-up in 2016 and second runner-up again in 2017. 

The Agew na Pangasinan is a provincewide celebration on April 5 marking the founding anniversary of Pangasinan.  

Pearl award is the Best Tourism Practices of the Philippines awards by the ATO-DOT.
