Fide Master Mejia to compete in 2019 SEA Games

THE provincial government manifested its support to Cherry Ann P. Mejia, a product of the annual chess clinic and chess tournament it organizes, who’s been selected to represent the Philippines in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games on November 30 to December 11.

Provincial Resolution No. 151-2019 authored by Board Member Von Mark Mendoza, reads “Mejia has already made her mark in various national and international chess tournaments in the past years by bringing home gold, bronze and silver medals.”

Mejia earned Woman FIDE Master title in 2009 and still an active woman FIDE chess master of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines. Her father is from Labrador while her mother is from San Jacinto.

Meanwhile, Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario moved to include other Pangasinense athletes in the Philippine team to competing the SEA Games. (PIO/SMDG)
