DR. Maria Celia Joy Fernandez is now the City Schools Superintendent of Dagupan, replacing Dr. Lorna Bugayong who retired from the service after her long stint with the Department of Education.

Fernandez was recently the school division superintendent of Pangasinan 1 based in Lingayen.         

Acting Mayor Bryan Kua and Councilor Tamayo extended their warm welcome to Fernandez as they thanked Bugayong for her service to Dagupan City as city schools superintendent, especially for helping the city’s athletes win the championship in the Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) meet for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019).

Bugayong also secured the ISO certified-teaching force by upgrading the level of service of all public schools in the city, and also for making the City Schools Division as topnotcher in research in Region 1. (Leonardo Micua)
