Espino family hails heroism of ex-governor’s driver, bodyguard
SAN CARLOS CITY—The Espino family hailed the heroism displayed by Agapito Cuison, the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser that former Governor Amado Espino Jr. was riding, when he continued driving the SUV unmindful of the bullet wounds he sustained until he reached the Blessed Family Hospital so the Espino patriarch could be given immediate medical attention.
Cuison expired more than 24 hours after the ambuscade that also killed P/Staff Sergeant Richard Esguerra, a security aide, who was inside the backup vehicle moving behind and wounded Kervin Marbori, a private nurse and Jayson Masisi, another bodyguard.
To the families of both Cuison and P/Sgt Esguerra who both gave up their lives to secure the life of the Espino patriarch, their heroism and dedication to their duty was not lost to the Espinos who expressed their deepest gratitude, sympathy and condolences to their families. (Leonardo Micua)
