Eight GCTA beneficiaries surrender, 40 more sought

EIGHT former inmates at the New Bilibid Prison who were released due to good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law have surrendered to Pangasinan Police.

According to P/Colonel Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, the eight GCTA grantees voluntarily surrendered to various police stations were:

1) Dindo Liquiran y Penuliar, Poblacion East Calasiao Pangasinan, Ihawig Prison, charged with four counts of rape, surrendered in Calasiao Police Station.

2) Modesto Cabuang and Nardo Matabang, both from  Nalsian Sur, Bayambang, charged with robbery, rape with homicide, surrendered to Bayambang Police Station.

3) Jessie Polangco y Raquedan and Jonie Polangco y Raquedan of Barangay Poblacion, Asingan, charged with murder, surrendered to Urdaneta Police Station.

4) Robert Norberte y Hernandez charged with homicide and Raymund Manalili y Ylarde, rape case of Barangay Libertad and Barangay Evangelista in Tayug surrendered to CIDG and Tayug Police.

5) Fernandito R. Casem of Maseil-seil, Umingan with a case of forcible abduction with rape surrendered to Umingan Police where he escaped initially in July 2012.

According to Col. Maranan, 40 others who were freed inmates because of GCTA law are now being sought by Pangasinan PPO. Maranan urged the 40 to voluntarily surrender to the authorities. (Nora Dominguez)
