Cong. Jumel says family strong, not intimidated
BUGALLON – “Pwede nila tayong takutin, pwede nilang pagtangkaan ang aming buhay na buong pamilya pero hindi po kami hihinto na magbigay ng serbisyo para sa inyo.”
This was how the family of former Rep. Amado Espino Jr. who survived an assassination attempt on September 11 felt as articulated by his son, Second District Rep. Jumel Anthony I. Espino, who posted it on his Facebook account.
He wrote, he and the Espino family will continue to serve the Pangasinenses despite the recent violence his father was subjected to while traveling to San Carlos City.
He said he promised that in return for the trust given by his constituents he will serve the 2nd District regardless of circumstances.
He bought wheelchairs for his constituents with special needs, a joint project with the Vasandani family.
Espino wrote, no one, nothing, not even black propagandas can shake them.
“Ipakita po natin na hindi tayo natatakot. Ipakita po natin ang ating pagkakaisa at iparamdam natin sa kanila na dito sa Pangasinan walang lugar ang kasamaan.”
He assured that serbisyong tatak Espino will continue for he believes “that the goodness and truth will prevail according to God’s will.”
Meanwhile, the employees of the local government unit here formed a prayer brigade or the speedy recovery of the congressman’s father.
Mayor Priscilla I. Espino, the former congressman’s wife, and sons Governor Amado Espino III and Cong. Jumel released a statement through the Province of Pangasinan Official Facebook page on September 12, cited the heroism of the driver, Agapito Cuison, who succumbed to his bullet wounds, and security aides who managed to bring him to the nearby hospital despite having gunshot wounds.
Prayers and snappy salute for the bravery of the late P/Staff Sergeant Richard Esguerra who died on the spot, and Cuison were offered by the townspeople of Bugallon. (Melody Valenton)
