Bugallonenses brace for flooding

BUGALLON – As the Habagat continued to cause flooding, the town’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headed by Mayor Priscilla I. Espino had an emergency meeting on September 9 with departments and local responders and prepared  for rescue and evacuation of residents in the low-lying areas.

Following her directive, the Bugallon Police under P/Major Amor Mio Somine formed a search and rescue team led by P/Lieutenant Landro M. Velasquez and deployed personnel in every barangay in this town.

Families who were affected by the flooding already did preemptive evacuation and settled at the Espino Gymnasium in Poblacion.

The mayor also suspended classes in all levels here to ensure safety of students. The MDRRMC provided hotlines which the residents could call or text for emergency: m landline: (075) 633-0312 /mobile number: 0917-8427-828. (Melody Valenton)
