PANGASINAN, HOME OF SINGING COPS

MISSION accomplished!

This was happily reported by P/Corporal Eric Mostoles to the Asingan Police Station, his home station in Pangasinan after besting 19 other police personnel in the Pangasinan Singing Police Grand Finals to emerge as this year’s Singing Police.

Twenty uniformed personnel from the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), city and municipal police stations, and provincial police office who qualified for the grand finals, finally showcased their talents on August 25 at SM City Rosales.

Other winners were: Patrolman Anthony Mores (Aguilar Police Station), 2nd place; P/ Master Sergeant Dulce Mejos (Infanta Police Station), 3rd; Patrolwoman Beverly Bolusan (Dagupan City Police Station), 4th; and, P/Staff Sergeant Franklin Guiling (DCPS) Dagupan City Police Station), 5th place.

P/Lt. Col Norman T. Florentino, Chief of Provincial Community Affairs and Development Office, June Lopez, Mall Personnel, and selected chiefs of police were the judges for the spectacular event.

Mostoles gave a heartfelt rendition of Martin Nievera’s OPM hit, “Ikaw Ang Pangarap”.

In a PUNCH interview, Mostoles said he did not expect winning the title. “Noong 2nd place na ang tinatawag tapos hindi pa nababanggit ang pangalan ko, akala ko wala na.”

He dedicated his favorite lines – “Ikaw ang aking pangarap, ikaw ang sagot sa aking dasal. Puso ko ay iaaalay, ‘pagkat minamahal kitang tunay…”-  to his wife, Alyssa and to the community he is serving.

He expressed his gratitude to all the people who supported and prayed for him, especially to his home station.

Launched in 2018, Singing Police aims to foster and strengthen its relationship with the police force of the province by providing them a platform to showcase their talents to the community.

Like melodies and harmonies, the province’s policemen are making good music together while accomplishing missions for peace and order. (Melody Valenton)
