4th Gov’s Cup Inter-Town/City Basketball tourney set November

THE provincial government’s fourth season of the province’s biggest basketball cagefest dubbed, “Governor’s Cup Inter-Town/City Basketball Tournament” reels off in November.

Provincial Sports Development Management Council (PSDMC) Executive Director Modesto M. Operania said at least 30 participating local government units (LGUs) are expected to compete this season.

During a preparatory meeting held last week, Operania, joined by PSDMC Deputy Executive Officer Marlon Domalanta, cited the continued support of Gov. Amado Espino III for the sports activities in the province. 

Operania reiterated the values of discipline, respect and dignity to make this fourth season another successful undertaking.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Regional Director Edilberto Abalos discussed the rules and guidelines for the games during the meeting and as announced, a training for the coaches. Abalos said the games will continue to be a great avenue for homegrown cagers and stressed that only bonafide residents of respective towns and cities should be fielded to play. (PIO.SMDG)
