17th Buntis Congress held in Umingan
SOME 300 pregnant women availed of the services offered in the 17th Buntis Congress held in Umingan town on August 30.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Dr. Anna Maria Teresa De Guzman provided free pre-natal care/consultation, risk assessment consultations, dental services, laboratory tests, ultrasound, cervical cancer screening, information education, beauty and wellness services notably haircut and foot spa.
David Gurion, Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital (EPDH) chief, urged the participants to patronize the services of public health facilities which are PhilHealth-accredited based and to refrain from giving birth at home.
The participants received Buntis Kits/Maternal Kits containing supplies that will be used during their delivery and PhilHealth provided information on their health insurance benefits.
Lectures on reproductive health, responsible parenthood, family planning, HIV/AIDS, livelihood (for fathers/heads of family) were delivered. (PIO/RBB)
