Security guard arrested for the possession of loose firearms, shabu
A security guard was arrested for possessing illegal firearms at the Pangasinan Police and Villasis Police checkpoint along Barraca-San Nicolas Bypass Road in Villasis town.
P/Colonel Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, identified the suspect as Johnny Martin Mariano, 44, a resident of Salcedo, San Manuel, Tarlac.
According to Maranan, the suspect was intercepted at the police checkpoint where authorities recovered illegal weapons including one cal. 22 revolver with bullets, a grenade and two sachets of suspected shabu.
The suspect was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of illegal weapons and illegal drugs.
Maranan said the arrest of the suspect was a result of the ongoing alert and intensified anti-criminality campaign of Pangasinan PNP. (Nora Dominguez)
