A suspect involved in an attempted gas station robbery was killed after he shot it out with the members of Rosales Police Station in Barangay San Angel, Rosales.

A patrol unit of Rosales Police was passing by the area when the gasoline boy alerted it that a customer suddenly entered the cashier booth, pointed a gun at the cashier and took the pouch containing the P7,595 cash collection and one mobile phone.

The gunman fled on seeing the police patrol and began shooting at the police with his handgun. 

The police caught up with him about one kilometer and a half away from the gas station where the escaping suspect was eventually shot by the police.

He was rushed by the police to Dr. Chan Hospital in Barangay Carmen where he was declared dead on arrival.

Based on his ID’s, the suspect was identified  as Roel Ventura, 25 years old and a resident of Barangay Calangcuasan, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. Recovered from his possessions are two caliber 45 pistols, one pouch containing the stolen money and one unit of mobile phone. (Nora Dominguez)
