BUGALLON – Mission accomplished.

This was the response of the town’s government to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte order to towns and cities to reclaim public roads that are being used for private ends, an order that the Department of Interior and Local Government stressed there can be no exemption.

Bugallon Police Station led by P/Major Amor Mio Somine, reported the status of the mission to Mayor Priscilla “Mely” I. Espino who tasked the police to help in the implementation of the President’s order.

Sidewalk vendors have been relocated to the park, owners of building, stores or houses  or structures have agreed to remove or demolish their illegal structures and public/private vehicles are no longer allowed to park in areas obstructing pedestrian lanes.

Gemma Dela Cruz, 43, sidewalk vendor, said the relocation will lessen their chances of selling but the relocation is better than being prohibited to sell anywhere. (Melody Valenton)
