To provide free health service and environment-friendly program, the I Love Pangasinan Kalusugan Karaban (ILPKK) and Kalinisan Karaban headed to Balungao to give service to Pangasinenses of Barangay Poblacion and its adjacent barangays on August 1.

Warmly welcomed by the citizens of Balungao, Gov. Amado I. Espino III and First Lady Karina P. Espino wholeheartedly provided free medical and dental services and consultation, laboratory diagnostic examination and supplemental feeding program and environment-friendly mobile store to the townsfolks.

Launched in 2016, the I Love Pangasinan Kalusugan Karaban is a brainchild project of Governor Espino, administered through the Provincial Health Office primarily intended to provide quality health care to Pangasinenses and to bring health services closer to them. The ILPKK is currently on its 5th season held in more than 200 barangays.

The ILPKK also provided rolls of olyset nets to Poblacion Central School, Gerry cans, hyposol, and insecticides for anti-dengue to Barangay Poblacion, sanitation kits for pregnant mothers, school supplies and slippers for students, and tokens for senior citizens

On the other hand, the Kalinisan Karaban is a project of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the General Services Office of waste collection in exchange for goods launched earlier this year. This project enables the townsfolks to trade their plastic wastes for groceries or school supplies.

“Huwag po nating pabayaan ang ating kalusugan, ang ating kalinisan, ang ating bayan para maipamana natin ito sa ating mga susunod na henerasyon,” Gov. Espino said as he emphasized the importance of health and cleanliness to the town of Balungao and its residents.

The twin projects also highlighted the measures taken by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan to address the dengue cases that threaten the whole country.

“Dapat unahin natin ang kalinisan at kalusugan upang matulungan natin ang ating mga barangay officials na mapababa ang mortality rate at victims ng dengue,” said Board Member Salvador Perez, Jr.

Also present in the event were 6th Board Member Noel Bince, Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial President Jose Peralta, Balungao Mayor Maria Theresa Peralta, Vice Mayor Philipp Peralta, Barangay Captain Roozemond Peralta, Municipal Health Officer Irene Gancinia-Ocampo, Provincial Health Officer II Anna de Guzman, General Services Officer Evan Gladish P. Domalanta, Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital Chief Dr. David Ben E. Gurion, and Provincial Information Officer Orpheus Velasco. /Paula Jhea Sison
