COMMISSION on Elections Dagupan is set to focus on schools and barangays in order to reach more new voters during the two-month registration period for the barangay and SK elections.

“We will be touring the schools and barangays, including malls in Dagupan to enable people to register”, said Atty. Michael Franks Sarmiento, city election officer.

Touring of satellite offices will be done on a daily basis.

According to Sarmiento, the COMELEC office is open from 8am to 5pm, including Saturdays and Holidays.

“Nag-adjust na kami at inilalapit na namin sa kanila ang opisina para wala na silang dahilan na hindi magpa-rehistro”, he added.

Individuals who are applying for registration, transfer of records, correction, revalidation, and re-activation are accepted in their city and satellite offices.

Applicants who will be at least 15 years old come May 11, 2020, and residing in the barangay for at least six months on or before Election Day are eligible to register.

To make the registration process hassle-free, Sarmiento advised applicants to bring a valid ID, with photo and signature. Applicants may also download a registration form in the website www.comelec.gov.ph.

Sarmiento also advised applicants to secure their acknowledgment receipt once biometrics have been captured by an authorized Voter Registration Machin (VRM) operator. (Ahikam Pasion)
