A teacher was shot dead by an identified suspect while on his way to Eguia National High School in Barangay Eguia in Dasol town.
P/ Captain Gilbert Ferrer, Dasol chief of police, identified the victim as Ruby Domalanta Marcha, 46 years old, a public school teacher and a resident of the said Barangay.
Ferrer said, the victim was felled by bullets in the head and body and was declared dead on arrival at Dasol Community Hospital.
Police said the victim was driving his tricycle on his way to work with his wife, Kathleen Marcha, 26, when the victim was shot by an identified suspect who immediately fled after the incident.
Six empty shells of caliber 45 were found in the crime scene by the SOCO team.
Ferrer said, among the possible motives they are looking into are the ownership of assets of the deceased former wife of the victim who was also a teacher which her relatives are seeking to recover. (Nora Dominguez)
