San Carlos PNP, POSO continue crackdown

SAN CARLOS CITY– The city police and Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) here continued  their no-nonsense campaign against undisciplined motorcycle riders.

The campaign has been relentless after the San Carlos PNP recorded 60 motorcycle-related accidents during the second quarter (April to June) where half of the incidents involved teens not wearing helmets.

Rizaldy Enriquez, POSO deputy officer, said more than a hundred riders have been apprehended after launching its operation two weeks ago.

“Our impounding area can no longer accommodate the increasing number of impounded motorcycles and accessories since the campaign started”, he said.

Most of the violations are ‘no helmet’, ‘no driver’s license’, ‘noisy mufflers’, ‘colorum tricycles’.

Enriquez said they have started to focus on impounding motorcycles with noisy mufflers soon. “We will continue to confiscate the illegal accessories and destroy them”, Enriquez added.  (Chub Pasion)
