San Carleñan lass, top 6th in nursing board exam

Out of the 9, 691 hopefuls that took the June 2019 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE), Tricia Jane Galvez Bautista, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate at the PHINMA University of Pangasinan soared to 6th place.

The 20-year old, daughter of  Ronaldo and Marilyn Bautista, passed the examination on her first take.

“We are very proud of you and congratulations. All our sacrifices were paid off because of your achievements. Thank you Lord for giving this opportunity to my niece. May you continue to inspire our families and friends on your journeys in life,” her proud godfather Richard Bautista also a nurse, greeted.

“Salamat po sa Diyos at nakuha ni Tricia Jane ang Top 6 sa board exam. Salamat sa lahat lalo na kay tito ninong nya. Salamat anak,” her father Ronald said.

When asked what inspired her to reach for the top, she said, “It is my family po. My papa is a farmer po and housewife po si mama, I know hindi po enough yung kinikita nila and anim pa po kaming magkakapatid at panganay din po ako. I know I have a huge responsibility and studying is the only thing I’m good at. Pinaaral po ako ng mga tito and tita ko po. I did my best not for myself but to repay them. My parents, my tito and titas and lolo and lolas. This is for my family po.”

A victory parade was organized by the university for Bautista and other nursing board passers on July 11.

PHINMA University of Pangasinan has been cited as the Top 9 Best Performing School by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) board with 65 passers and 87.88% passing rate for first-time takers. (Melody Valenton)
