Nat’l Milo Marathon elimination race here, Aug. 18

PREPARATIONS are underway for the holding of the third elimination race for the 42nd National Milo Marathon on August 18 at the Lingayen Baywalk area.

Expecting some 20,000 participants, the Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC), met with the MILO team led by Tess Bernardino to map out the plans for marathon which is open to young students aged seven years old up to interested adult participants from different areas in the country.

The Runrio Inc., event organizer, held an elimination race in Manila last July 18 and will be followed by another race at Subic Bay Freeport Zone on August 4. The third will be held in Pangasinan specifically at the capital town.

Bernardino said the race shall consist of different categories: the 3k and 5k Fun Run, 10k Race, 21k Half Marathon, and 42.195k Full Marathon.

The 3k race or kiddie race will be exclusive for children aged seven to 12 years old while the 5k race will be open for everyone from aged seven and above. The other three categories are intended for participants aged 16 years and above who are proven “fit to run.”
