Mangaldan bikefest on July 14
IF the weather will cooperate, the postponed Mangaldan bikefest, “First Pangasinan Cycling Grand Prix 2019,” will finally be held on July 14.
According to race director Jazy Fernandez Garcia, the cycling event which will start and finish across the elementary school of Barangay Buenlag, Mangaldan, will be run in six categories namely: 23 years and below; Open-pro (24-39); submaster (40-49); Golden (50-59); Puwede Pa kami (60 and above) and Manager-Executive category.
Garcia said the bikefest will be run in a criterium system along the Mangaldan-Sta. Barbara national road with cash prizes, trophies and medals awaiting the top five winners in each category.
“We have to start early, at least at 9:00 a.m., to avoid rains that usually comes in the afternoon,” he said.
The bikefest is in coordination with Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
