“Congratulations and take care of a strong city”

FROM FORMER MAYOR TO NEW MAYOR

IT was an orderly turnover ceremony of power and authority that ushered in the administration of Mayor Brian Lim as Dagupan City’s new mayor.

In her remarks to the incoming administrator, former Mayor Belen Fernandez to the incoming administration, she echoed the state of affairs in the city that she was leaving for the new administration’s care: “a city in great abundance, powerful and mighty and is today the strongest in Pangasinan, and the city with the most robust economy in Region 1.”

“Given the incredible progress we have made in just six years, it should be clear to everyone that our potential is boundless. If we stay committed to the ideals of good governance, the growth and progress of Dagupan will continue in leaps and bounds,” she said as video footages of the projects that had been accomplished was presented.

She said she “is entrusting to the next administration, a city that recently garnered the regional and national titles as the Most Child-Friendly City and expressed hope that the city wins anew in 2019.

In congratulating Mayor Lim, his family and supporters, Fernandez assured the new mayor of her support.

“I assure Mayor Brian my cooperation and continuing support, in the name and for the sake of true progress and peace in our beloved City of Dagupan, saying the election has already passed as she urged everyone to move forward and forge ahead for the betterment of the city.

She also said she left behind a wonderful team from the executive department who are all committed, professional and of proven integrity which she entrusted to the new administration “as your dependable partners”.

“I leave behind a city whose love and support I will always treasure. It has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life to serve the people of Dagupan. In both joyful and neediest moments,” she added.  She revealed she was with the Dagupenos many times wading even through floods just to be with them and called on the new officials of the city: “Kung may bagyo at baha, sana ay nandiyan din kayo.(Leonardo Micua)
