1st RD’s Cup held in Pangasinan
TO measure the marksmanship and proficiency of PNP personnel in handling their issued firearms, the 1st RD's Cup, PRO1 Invitational Shoot for a Cause, the 3rd leg was conducted at the firing range of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.
This invitational cup was attended by police personnel from four provinces covered by PRO1, it is Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.
P/ Brigadier General Joel S. Orduña, Police Regional Office 1 director, and P/ Colonel Redrico Maranan, acting Pangasinan director, led the ceremonial shooting in the firing range in PPPO.
Orduña said the proficiency and discipline in gun handling must be instilled among the police continuously and proceeds from the project will be used for construction of day care centers.
Maranan said the shootfest is a competition program initiated by the Regional Director to fund the projects of the PRO1 and to promote unity, camaraderie, and brotherhood of police.
The next leg will be held in La Union and Ilocos Norte, Orduña said. (Nora Dominguez)
