Search for loose firearms intensify

THE intensified campaign against loose firearms netted fifteen (15) varied firearms and three hundred and forty-nine (349) different bullets were confiscated from nineteen (19) persons who were arrested over the a four-day period.

 According to P/Colonel Redrico A. Maranan, PNP provincial director, the operations were results of the implementation of twenty-nine (29) search warrants against those who were known to possess the illegal weapons.

Among the confiscated weapons included M16 rifle, pistols (five cal. 22, two 9mm, one  8mm, seven cal. 38, two cal. 45,) one shotgun, two homemade shotguns and three air-guns.

Various bullets and magazines recovered were for the confiscated unlicensed weapons.

Maranan said, the Pangasinan police will continue to intensify its campaign against loose firearms to check criminals’ use in the maintenance of peace and order in the province. (Eva Visperas/Nora Dominguez)
