2 wounded in Alcala shooting

ALCALA–An incumbent kagawad of Barangay Poblacion and his helper were wounded and hospitalized after a gun attack by unidentified armed suspects riding in tandem on a motorcycle at about 8:25 p.m. on June 4 in front of their eatery.

The Alcala Police identified the victims as Kagawad Gabriel Loria, 51, owner of an eatery, who suffered one gunshot wound in his right foot; and his helper identified as Rona Teresa Domingo, 33, who was wounded in both feet.

Both victims were rushed to the Bayambang District Hospital for treatment while the police conducted pursuit operation against the unidentified suspects.

Investigation showed that while Loria and Domingo were busy selling barbecue to customers in front of the eatery, the suspects on board a motorcycle approached them and started shooting with the use of a handgun.

Seven empty shells of Cal. 9 mm. pistol bullets were recovered by the police from the crime scene. Motive of the shooting remained undetermined. (Leonardo Micua)
