Sta. Barbara, Bayambang singers win
TAKAYAN NA DAYEW
LINGAYEN — Singers from Sta. Barbara and Bayambang made their mark in homegrown musical
competitions after winning the Takayan na Dayew ed Balon Panaon titles.
Prince Chad Poserio, 11 years old, bested nine other contestants in the Ugugaw category
championship with his version of the song “She’s Gone” while 22 year-old Laarni Rose
Cayabyab of Bayambang, won the Babalulaki tan Mamarikit category with her
rendition of “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin”.
Runner-up in Ugugaw was Yvanie Jeuosh
Bayaban of Asingan who sang “Sayang na Sayang”, while Areilamie Apalis of
Dagupan City who sang “Never Enough” was runner-up in Balulaki tan Mamarikit.
The other finalists in the Pista’y Dayat‘s 2019 edition of Takayan na Dayew gathered 20 finalists during the face-off held at
the Sison Auditorium on April 29: (Ugugaw )- Richard Loel Padonia (Binmaley),
Ruevelyn Dulay (Dagupan City), Clara Isabel Santos (Calasiao), Dylan Garingo
(Calasiao), Diovalyn Monderin (Bayambang), Avril Anika Damasco (Asingan),
Yvanie Jeuosh Bayaban (Asingan), Princess Shane Martin (Laoac), and Judy Ciary
Benitez (Villasis); (Babalulaki tan Mamarikit) – Lucilla Pabunan (Villasis),
Alexandra May Tamayo (Sta. Barbara), May Irish Paladan (Aguilar), Sylvester
Clyde Benabese (Lingayen), Chelsea Macam (Lingayen), Areilamie Apalis (Dagupan
City), Kaye Ann Soriano (Lingayen), Julie Gabriel Torres (Manaoag), and Tammy
Marie Fernandez (Calasiao).
Provincial Librarian Ma. Cynthia Encarnita Vila (event chairperson), said the Takayan na Dayew, which was featured as
part of Pista’y Dayat celebration from 2008 to 2014, has produced notable
Pangasinense singers who won in national singing contests in the country. (PIO/MGNO)
