Gun-for-hire leader shot dead by cops

The suspect, Verson Mamerto, alias “Jong”, tagged as the leader of the Mamerto gun-for-hire group, was the main suspect behind the slaying of a barangay captain of San Quintin town in 2016.

The policemen retaliated and hit Mamerto. The wounded suspect was brought to the Asingan Community Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Scene of the Crime Operatives picked up the Colt Caliber 45 pistol with inserted magazine loaded with three bullets where his body was laid wounded.
