LINGAYEN–The officer-in-charge provincial election supervisor in Pangasinan has reminded all candidates that they have until June 12 to file their Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCE).

Ericson Oganiza told newsmen that winners, losers and candidates (depending on their dates of withdrawal) who withdrew are required to file their SOCEs that started May 14.

He clarified that if the withdrawal is made past the start of the campaign period it means he/she has already spent for his/her candidacy and are thus required to file their SOCE, he added.

Failure to file the first time will incur an administrative fine depending on the position and on city or municipality where the candidate filed his candidacy.

Oganiza said the advisory letters were given the candidates when they filed their certificates of candidacy. In February, letters were again sent, he added.

He said it is the Comelec’s campaign finance office that checks and verifies the submitted SOCEs. (PhilStar Wire Service)
