THE National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) of the Office of the President lauded the successful initiatives of the provincial government in addressing poverty issues in the province.

Ferdinand Hombrebueno, NAPC Director for Localization, cited Gov. Amado Espino III as he expressed his elation over the provincial government’s interventions to empower the under-privileged Pangasinenses.

“We want to acknowledge the efforts of our provincial chief executive along with other local government chiefs dahil maganda ang programs and projects nila and… we know that Pangasinan can do it,” Hombrebueno, who hails from Dagupan City, said.

Hombrebueno said NAPC’s mission as directed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, is to backstop the current social reforms and poverty alleviation programs of the province.

He cited the economic growth in the province heralded by the tourism development plans and implementation, rice and corn  production and manoges.

In a meeting with Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, Provincial Planning and Development Office Coordinator Benita Pizarro and Provincial Information Officer Orpheus Velasco, Hombrebueno said the NAPC is holding community consultations with local government units, non-government organizations, the civil society and other stakeholders to draw up new plans and ideas on poverty reduction.
