LINGAYEN — The Sand Sculpting event of Pista’y Dayat scheduled on April 30 will demonstrate how the fine gray sands of the Lingayen Gulf will be transformed into three dimensional (3D) artistic forms.

Through the years, the sand sculpting contest held at the Capitol beachfront has leveled up from the simple forms of sand sculptures to elaborate 3D displays.

There will be 20 teams that will participate in the young adult category (18-30 years old), and five groups for the family category (minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 members; family members age qualification from 7 years old to 60 years old).

The contest will start at 4 a.m.

The participants will interpret the theme “Say Dayat Ko, Kasuldungay Bilay Ko” in their sand sculpting masterpieces.

Winning entries will receive cash prizes: Php25,000 (champion), Php20,000 (1st runner-up), and Php10,000 (2nd runner-up) for the young adult category. Each non-winning entry will be given Php3,200 consolation prize.

Cash prizes for the family category, on the other hand, as follows: P20,000 (champion), P15,000 (1st runner-up), and P10,000 (2nd runner-up). Consolation prize for each non-winning entry is P2,500. (PIO/MGNO)
