LINGAYEN–About 15,000 jobs will be offered to jobseekers in two major job fairs being organized by the Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office 1 (DOLE-RO1) in Pangasinan on Labor Day.

DOLE-RO I Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said one job fair will be held at the Magic Mall in Urdaneta City from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while the night jobs fair at the Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office compound in Lingayen, Pangasinan will run from 5:00 p.m. to 12 midnight.

He said 70 local employers and licensed recruitment agencies will make at least 8,000 vacancies available at the Magic Mall jobs fair while 21 local employers and licensed recruitment agencies are expected to generate around 7,000 vacancies at the Lingayen night jobs fair.

“Labor Day is a fitting opportunity to recognize the valuable contribution of our workers in the development of the country and to muster greater support from various sectors to further the goals of decent work,” Lacambra said.

He said the job fairs are part of the DOLE’s continuing efforts to facilitate jobseekers’ search for employment by bringing in companies in need of workers in one venue.

The Magic Mall job fair will hire production operators, customer service representatives and technical support representatives while overseas job orders await skilled construction workers, hotel and restaurant workers and other skilled workers.

In the same job fairs, one-stop employment services will be provided by the Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Professional Regulation Commission, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and the National Labor Relations Commission. (PhilStar Wire Service)
