8 teams of the advance to Magic Round


LINGAYEN– The gripping match-ups in the quarterfinals propelled eight teams to vie for the magic rounds on March 23 and March 24 (if necessary) at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gymnasium.

Last March 17, Urdaneta City trounced defending champion Team Lingayen via crucial match, 89-84, at the Tayug Gym to seal the quarterfinals sharing the same win-loss stats (5-1).

Meanwhile, Manaoag crushed Malasiqui in a lopsided match, 101-64, on March 16 at Bautista Gym to earn their seventh win in the quarterfinals. Manaoag is the lone team that is undefeated.

Sto. Tomas landed their spot in the magic round after defeating Mangatarem, 94-86. Bautista entered the top 4 list after they clobbered Alaminos City, 70-65, to eliminate the latter in the next round.

For the Magic Round, the top two teams shall enjoy a “twice-to-beat” advantage over the teams ranked third and fourth.

Urdaneta City under Group A will battle Bayambang while defending champion Lingayen will clash against Tayug. For Group B, games will feature last year’s first runner-up, Manaoag versus Bautista and Sual against Sto. Tomas.

9:00AM-10:30AM – (B5) Bautista vs. Manaoag
10:30AM-12:00PM – (A6) Bayambang vs. Urdaneta City
12:00PM-1:30PM – (B7) Sto. Tomas vs. Sual
1:30PM-3:00PM – (A8) Tayug vs. Lingayen
