PHO – P’sinan gains IS0 9001:2015 certification

Lingayen, Pangasinan — The Provincial Health Office (PHO) – Pangasinan maintains excellence in health leadership made evident with the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification for quality management system it received recently.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification of PHO – Pangasinan is an upgraded version of the ISO 9001:2008 certification which was previously granted to the health office.

Provincial Health Officer II Anna Maria Teresa de Guzman said that the ISO 9001:2015 certification which she presented to the provincial government, led by Governor Amado I. Espino III during the regular flag raising ceremony on February 11, is a proof that PHO – Pangasinan operates a management system which conforms with the formulation of health plan, capability building, monitoring and evaluation of health program.

Taking pride of another ISO certification granted to the PHO – Pangasinan, Governor Espino thanked the key health players of the province for collaborating in bringing optimum healthcare services to Pangasinenses.

Governor Espino extolled the health workers of the province for reaching another milestone in local health governance.

“When compared to the previous ISO certification (9001:2008), the upgraded ISO certification (9001:2015) has a standard on risk management which is followed during the planning or crafting of a management system,” Dr. De Guzman said.

The upgraded ISO certification of PHO – Pangasinan was granted by the Certification International Philippines to the health office after the comprehensive review of records by the validating team.

The upgraded ISO certification was issued to the PHO – Pangasinan on January 18, and is valid until January 22, 2020.

Joining the governor during the presentation of ISO certification were: Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim Jr., Board Member Rosary Garcia Perez-Tababa, SK Provincial President Jerome Vic Espino, Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba, and several department heads. /Mark Gerry Naval Oblanca
