Capitol revs up mobile skills trainings, job fair on wheels
LINGAYEN — Two flagship programs of the provincial government, Mobile Skills Training Project (MSTP), and the Job Fair on Wheels (JFW), are set to move to six towns this February.
PESO Manager Alex Ferrer said the MSTP is scheduled to conduct skills training services in Laoac, Anda, and San Nicolas, while the JFW brings job placement opportunities to Malasiqui, Balungao, Laoac, and, Binalonan.
Since the MSTP was launched by the Espino administration in 2017, the project has already benefitted 412 trainees in 11 towns: Bugallon, Sison (twice), Lingayen (three times), Calasiao, Pozorrubio, Manaoag, Infanta, Rosales, San Manuel (twice), and Urdaneta City.
Complementing the mobile
skills training project, the JFW has
helped some 1,954 job seekers from 15 towns:
Umingan, San Nicolas, Infanta, San Manuel, Rosales, Mabini, Anda,
Villasis, San Quintin, Mangatarem, Bolinao, Lingayen, Bugallon, Sta. Barbara,
and San Fabian.
“Those interested to avail of the MSTP (male, 18 years old, out-of-school youth
and/or unemployed adult) are advised to register with their respective
municipal employment services office. Acceptance will be on a first-come,
first-serve basis,” Ferrer said.
MSTP’s
15-day training per batch, is organized
by the provincial government in partnership with the Technical and Skills
Development Authority, and the beneficiary Local Government Unit. The province
has partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment for the JFW project.
Skills training services offered by the MSTP include: basic masonry, basic tile
setting, basic carpentry, basic electrical installation and maintenance, and
basic plumbing.
Job applications during the Job Fair are open for nurses and other medical
personnel, masons, carpenters, electricians, heavy equipment operators, skilled
workers security guards, cashiers, drivers, hotel restaurant personnel, office
and sales staff, call center agents, factory workers, sewers,
housekeepers/caregivers, among others.
The MSTP is scheduled on February 4-22 in Laoac, February 6-26 in Anda, and
February 8-28 in San Nicolas. JFW is set in Malasiqui on February 15, Balungao
on February 19, Laoac on February 22, and Binalonan on February 26. (PIO/MGNO)
