Espino leads presentation of nat’l awards, board topnotchers, and int’l winners

LINGAYEN — Governor Amado I. Espino, III took pride in presenting another set of national awards conferred to the provincial government, as well as to young Pangasinenses who showed exemplary performances in various board exams, and international beauty searches.

The presentation of awards was held after the regular flag raising ceremony of the provincial government held on January 14 at the Capitol Plaza.

In presenting another set of national awards given to the provincial government, Governor Espino thanked the hardworking Capitol employees who live up to the vision and mission of the provincial administration for the province.

“Maraming salamat sa inyong sakripisyo mga kapwa kong lingkod bayan sa Kapitolyo. Let us continuously show our fellow Pangasinenses that we are worth serving them,” Governor Espino said.

National awards presented in public were conferred to the province in separate dates in November and December last year. These include: National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance award given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government on December 28 in Quezon City, Top 10 Most Outstanding Provincial Jail in the Philippines on December 3 in Muntinlupa City, and the Certificate of Recognition for the efficient procurement and implementation of projects under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) for Road and Bridge Repair, Rehabilitation and Improvement Program for FY 2017 and 2018 on November 23 in Mandaluyong City.

Academic awardees, on the other hand, are topnotchers of board exams held in October last year. They are: Von Zedrick Cruz of Libsong East, Lingayen (10th placer, CPA licensure exam); Ferren M. Velasco of Tonton, Lingayen (8th placer, Electronics Engineering licensure exam); Kenmark Jewel Biag of San Miguel, Calasiao (8th placer, Civil Engineering licensure exam); Jopet Aoanan Jornadal of San Jacinto (4th placer, Electronics Engineering licensure exam); and Mahrionee Luis Revilla of Binmaley (10th placer, licensure exam for teachers).

Four Pangasinense who raised the banner of the province in international beauty searches were recognized as well. They are: Engr. Woody Andres, Jr. of San Carlos City (Grand Winner of Mr. Tourism Ambassador Universe); Ma. April Burgos of Aguilar (Grand Winner of Ms. Tourism Ambassador Universe); Kurt Michael Primicias of Calasiao (1st Runner-Up, Mr. Continental International); and Apple Joy Baccay of Alaminos City (1st Runner-Up, Ms. Asia Global 2018).

The Mr. and Ms. Tourism Ambassador search was held on October 6 last year in Malaysia. The Ms. Asia Global pageant was staged in November last year in India while the Mr. Continental International was held in Manila.

Earlier, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed and approved (on separate dates) provincial resolutions commending the board topnotchers, and the international titlists who hail from the province.
