East Central School opens SM-funded classroom building

THE East Central Integrated School (ECIS) is set to accommodate more pupils following the opening of a new classroom building funded by SM Foundation on January 17.

The building was turned over to the school after its blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremonies led by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, ECIS Principal Reynard Barrozo, SM City Dagupan Manager Abraham Malicdem, Area VP for SM Supermalls North Junias Eusebio and Ramon Macapagal of SM Foundation.

The fully-furnished two-story, four classroom building also includes facilities for Persons-with-Disablity (PWD) such as ramps and toilets.

It will be accommodating kindergarten and grade-3 students of the school.

ECIS was chosen as beneficiary of SM Foundation through the Department of Education’s Adopt-A-School Program.

The new building is the 92nd building donated by SM Prime, through SM Foundation since the SM School Building Program started in 2002 nationwide. All these donated school buildings comprise 296 classrooms. (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
