THE Dagupan City government is set to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the
different senior high schools, colleges and universities in the city for the implementation of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) and the high school immersion program.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution proposed by Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo on January 7 authorizing Mayor Belen Fernandez to enter into an agreement
with different educational institutions offering the Senior High School (SHS) program.

Tamayo said the city government considers entering into work immersion program with different schools in the city as part of its mission to create and impact positively on the community, especially the young people.

The SHS is part of the K to 12 program of the Department of Education with the major objective of ensuring that graduates of basic education are ready for employment, entrepreneurship and higher learning.

Tamayo said the SHS curriculum can be customized at the local levels to take into consideration the needs of local industries and the labor market. (Leonardo Micua)
