Capitol mourns the passing of ex-Mayor BSL

LINGAYEN —The provincial government extended its condolences to the bereaved family of the late former Dagupan City Mayor Benjamin “Benjie” Saplan Lim.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed Resolution No. 2202-2019 expressing its sympathies and condolences to the family of the late former mayor who passed away last January 16.

“The SP mourns his passing away and joins the entire officialdom of the province of Pangasinan in prayer for the eternal repose of his soul, thankful always for his unselfish contributions to the betterment not only of the City of Dagupan and the 4th district of Pangasinan but of the entire province as well,” the resolution reads.

One of the illustrious sons of the province, Lim served Dagupan City as local chief executive from 2001-2007, and 2010-2013, and became a representative of the 4th district of Pangasinan from 1998-2001.

During his lifetime, Lim also devoted time to serve in in various socio-civic activities as Junior Chamber International (JCI) 1990 National President, and 1991 Vice President for Asia Pacific.

The late Lim, who passed away at the age of 66 is survived by his wife Celia and children Irene, and Dagupan City Vice Mayor Brian. (PIO/MGNO)
