Two arrested for drugs
ALCALA—A farmer was arrested when joint elements of the Alcala Police and the Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Pangasinan Police Office implemented a search warrant in the house of the suspect in Barangay Pindangan here in the early morning of December 17.
Found in the house of the suspect, Gemmo Soriano, 30, were five transparent sachets containing a substance believed to be shabu, one Cal. 38 revolver with no serial number, loaded with four bullets and 10 bullets for Caliber 45 pistol.
Cases for violation of R.A. No. 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition) and Section 11 of RA 9165 were already filed against the suspect.
Meanwhile, a Drug Enforcement Team of the Urdaneta Police arrested Mhel Antonio, alias “Miltong”, in a buy-bust operation in the morning of December 17 in Barangay Cabaruan.
Antonio, a drug personality and a former drug surrenderer from Barangay Labit Proper, sold one sachet of shabu to a buyer who is undercover policeman who paid P500 in marked money.
The suspect was already charged with violation of Republic Act. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leonardo Micua)
