NBI-BIR retrieve 28 truckloads of machineries, raw materials

JOINT operatives of the Bureau ofInternal Revenue and National Bureau of Investigation-Intellectual PropertyRights Division (NBI-IPR) retrieved total of twenty-nine truckloads of different machineries and raw materials used to manufacture fake cigarettes in Barangays Portic and Malabago in Bugallon town.

This was confirmed by Rodolfo Ignacio,Jr., supervising agent of the NBI-IPR Division, who said seven trucks load of confiscated items were retrieved during the first operation last week and twenty one trucks were seized on the second operation December 3.

The initial retrieval operations in the factory and in the warehouse lasted for two nights. 

The operatives are set to conduct another retrieval operation for one more truck load of machineries for manufacturing and packing of fake cigarettes in Barangay Portic and three more truck loads to be retrieved in the warehouse of raw materials for fake cigarettes in Barangay Malabago in Mangaldan.

The apprehension and mission order of the BIR was addressed to a certain Dong Calugay and John Doe, signed by Lawyer Arnel Guballa, Deputy Commissioner of BIR National Office.

The NBI-IPR Team served as support unit of the BIR that led the retrieval operation.

During the retrieval operation, the BIR operatives said a case of violation to Taxation Law and Intellectual PropertyRights will be filed against the operator and owner of the factory of fake cigarette and the warehouse of raw materials of fake cigarette in Barangay Malabago, Mangaldan.
